When she was 90 years old Joan quietly mentioned to me that she should "put something down"
I thought "You're right!"
Unable to resist the challenge, I scheduled an afternoon of interviews that became the basic structure of the film:
a chronicle of a life in told through stories narrated by Joan herself - a natural and animated storyteller.
Joan will be 93 in January. This film filled with stories and philosophy from her life is finally complete.
She speaks about the profound tragedies in her life balanced with enormous success and a deep love of family and
a heart and imagination that have inspired generations of children and adults.
The film is enhanced with illustrations and unpublished poems archived at the Mugar Arts Library Archives at Boston University.
Thanks to a dedicated team working within a miniscule budget for helping create this tribute.
